Day 7 – Occupation, Fun, health

Day 7 - Occupation, Fun, health
Early start again for today. Had to get up at 7 for an 8am class. First hour being a group meeting with construction management students about a estimate on t national park viewing and toilet facility. Then had to learn about method statements and cost breakdowns (not very entertaining)

Finally left class 2hours later tired, sleepy and hungry when I came across teddy bears, and mock playschool set up(australian kids tv show), girls dressed like high school kids and so forth. It was quite a spectacle and as I investigated further, i found signs stating that it was for the occupational health students (most likely first year). Never knew the field was so colourful and playful but I find college usually make things fun at first to lure the students in then keep them there! lol. Will post some of the first year architectural "fun" university projects for comparison 🙂

Thinking, Feeling, and Behaving: A Cognitive-Emotive Model to Teach Children How to Self-Control Behavior

Thinking, Feeling, and Behaving: A Cognitive-Emotive Model to Teach Children How to Self-Control Behavior
The cognitive-emotive view states that our thoughts and self-statements determine the way we feel and behave. This therapeutic model helps children understand how their emotions relate to their behavior, making explicit the connection between what children believe to be true (their beliefs and attributions) and how they behave. Using cognitive-emotive interventions children learn that controlling their thoughts is the way to emotional and behavioral self-control.
